The TK Maxx and Homesense Foundation is pleased to be helping vulnerable children, young people and families achieve their potential. Over the last 7 years, The TK Maxx and Homesense Foundation has donated over €7 million to thousands of local and national charities across Europe.

Inclusion and Diversity

Since 2020, the TK Maxx and Homesense Foundation has partnered with charities across Europe to provide funding for projects and initiatives that promote inclusion and diversity. The Foundation has committed to donate over £1.45M to charities supporting racial justice, mental health, people with disabilities and the LGBTQ+ community.

The TK Maxx and Homesense Foundation will continue to support the LGBTQ+ community now and in the future. In the UK, the Foundation donates to Diversity Role Models and The Diana Award.

Diversity Role Models: The latest donation from the Foundation will enable Diversity Role Models to deliver workshops to support and create inclusive attitudes and behaviours in deprived areas in the UK and help schools tackle LGBTQ+ bullying. This delivers workshops for 37 schools reaching around 5,550 young people.

The Diana Award: The latest donation from the Foundation will go towards providing resources to support young people on The Diana Award’s anti-homophobic and biphobic bullying programmes. The resources will help support 400 young people as anti-homophobic, biphobic and transphobic ambassadors from 50 schools over two years.

Throughout the rest of Europe, the Foundation also donates to the following LGBTQ+ charities: Belong To in Ireland, Projekt 100% MENSCH in Germany, Lambda Warszawa in Poland, Hosi Wien in Austria and COC in the Netherlands.

The Community Fund

The TK Maxx and Homesense Foundation funds and administers the Community Fund which enables TJX, TK Maxx and Homesense associates to nominate charities they are passionate about, to receive a donation to make a difference in their local communities.

Covid-19 Response

The TK Maxx and Homesense Foundation funded a two-part programme which contributed an amazing £1,700,000 to charities mobilised in the fight against Covid-19:

• Community Fund, £1,000,000: Set up by The TK Maxx and Homesense Foundation, the Community Fund enabled TK Maxx and Homesense associates to nominate local charities working hard in the fight against Covid-19 and supporting the most vulnerable.

• Tackle Covid-19 Fund, £700,000: The second part of the programme was the Tackle Covid-19 Fund of £700,000, donated by The TK Maxx and Homesense Foundation to mental health charities and front-line medical charities across Europe, supporting those impacted by Covid-19.

Disaster and Emergency Response

In 2018, The TK Maxx and Homesense Foundation became partners with the British Red Cross and joined their Disaster Relief Alliance. The Foundation donates £135,000 annually to their Disaster Fund which helps to fund global emergency response. So far, the funds have helped to support victims of the Covid-19 crisis, UK storms and flooding, Indonesia Earthquake, Zimbabwe Food Insecurity, Cyclone Idai and many more. In addition to this, further donations have been made to provide additional support to communities that need it, such as the India Covid-19 crisis and the recent flooding across Germany, Austria, Belgium and the Netherlands.
