We’re proud to announce that The TK Maxx and Homesense Foundation will be funding a two-part programme that’s contributing £1,700,000 to help in the fight against Covid-19. This Foundation programme complements a donation by TK Maxx and Homesense stores of over £3,000,000 worth of food products, that were delivered to food banks and medical charities in local communities across the UK and Ireland.
The Foundation’s programme is divided in two parts and will fund the following:
Community Fund, £1,000,000
The Community Fund will be dedicated to helping local grassroots charities who are working hard in the fight against Covid-19. Associates from our TK Maxx and Homesense stores, processing centres and offices across Europe will have the opportunity to nominate charities within their community who are doing great work in supporting the most vulnerable.
Tackle Covid-19 Fund, £700,00
The second part of the programme is the Tackle Covid-19 Fund of £700,000, also funded by the Foundation. This will see separate amounts donated to mental health charities (in the UK, MIND) and front line medical charities (NHS Charities Together in the UK) supporting those impacted by Covid-19. The fund also includes a component of support for our national charity partners to help protect their income and a donation of £100,000 to the Retail Trust’s dedicated appeal ‘CaRe20’ in the UK, which works to provide emotional and practical support services to workers in the retail industry.
This programme is in addition to a donation by the Foundation of £135,000 to the British Red Cross Disaster Relief Alliance, which helps groundbreaking global emergency response strategies and is being used to support those affected by the Covid-19 emergency globally.

“Our thoughts are with people around the world who have been affected by the Covid-19 outbreak. It has been brilliant to see good works, kindness and community spirit springing up all over the place. We are very thankful that the TK Maxx and Homesense Foundation can play a small role in supporting our communities at this time of need.”
We're continuing to support our charity partners
The Prince’s Trust is continuing to support young people during these uncertain times, including virtual one-to-one support, advice and guidance so young people can continue to develop their confidence and skills. They have also launched a Young People Action Plan and Relief Fund to specifically provide support for young people during the Coronavirus crisis.
Comic Relief supports organisations that help the most vulnerable children and families in the UK and in some of the poorest countries in the world. Comic Relief is offering support to hundreds of organisations that it currently funds to help them adapt their services in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. These include people who rely on homeless centres, food banks, domestic violence shelters, isolated older people, children living in poverty or refugees.
