Helping young people to fulfil their potential

As part of our ongoing commitment to support vulnerable young people to fulfil their potential, Homesense is proud to be in partnership with The Prince's Trust.

 

What we do – Get Into Retail

Homesense and TK Maxx, our sister company, have been partners of The Prince’s Trust's Get Into Retail programme since 2014 (2016 for Homesense). Get into Retail is a two to six week course that develops young people’s skills in the retail sector.  We’re proud to have helped over 1000 young people through the Get into Retail programme, with over 70% of them going on to get a job with us.  

 

What we do – Achieve

Homesense is also supporting young people through The Prince’s Trust’s Achieve programme, a personal development course aimed to re-engage 13 to 19-year-olds with education. The programme helps young people who are at risk of underachieving at school or college to engage with and succeed in their education. 

 

Over £500k has been raised since Homesense's national charity partnership with The Prince's Trust began in 2016. With our customers help, we’re supporting over 1500 young people in our local communities to develop skills and confidence to engage and succeed in education.

 

Prince’s Trust Awards

Homesense and TK Maxx are proud sponsors of the Prince’s Trust Awards 18/19 for the third year running. The awards recognise young people who have succeeded against the odds, improved their chances in life, had a positive impact on their local community, as well as people who have played a part in supporting the work of The Trust.

A series of regional events took place in October 2018 and will culminate in a star studded national final at the London Palladium in March.

 

Hang a Bauble

Our ‘Hang a Bauble’ campaign takes place throughout the festive period each year where we invite our customers to donate £1 to the Princes Trust, to receive a paper bauble to hang on our in-store tree.  The Christmas 2018 campaign raised over £112,000.
